About Friends for Jamaica (F.F.J)
Founder: RAS TAVARIS TAYLOR (aka Ashii)
Born in Manchester, Mandeville, Jamaica, Tavarīs is a musician, singer-songwriter, producer, and community leader. Everywhere he goes, he brings people together and adds value to their lives. After migrating to the UK, he kept strong roots in Caribbean community activities and service. Following the passing of his mother, Seami, he became even more driven to help people — continuing the legacy of love and protection he watched her live every day. R.I.P. Mama Seami.
Why F.F.J
As a son of the island, Tavarīs knows families and communities personally affected by Hurricane Melissa and ongoing hardships. Rather than donating into large organizations, he works directly with trusted people on the ground so help reaches those who need it most. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
Immediate Emergency Actions

- Dry food, cooked food, and beverages
- Roofing material and basic repairs for community centres
Where We’re Working
Step-by-step activation of centres in Manchester, Clarendon, and St. Elizabeth, with teams already on the ground. We know this is a long-term build-back, but emergency care begins with consistent food access and reliable gathering points — then we scale into infrastructure repairs together.
Trust & Accountability
We work only with people we know and trust — people who respect the name and the mission. Your contribution goes directly toward real, verifiable community aid and distribution.
Motto: In truth — we serve and protect.
